Reading practice
Reading practice is unlimited on every plan, including Free. Marking a reading attempt costs nothing to run, so capping it would only throttle the habit worth building.
Finding a passage
The list can be filtered by question type and by difficulty. Arriving from a plan task narrows it to the one passage that task means, and arriving from a lesson's Practice stage preselects that lesson's question type.
Sitting it
A passage carries 13 questions and a 20-minute timer. Timing is proportional to a full test — 40 questions in 60 minutes — so a shorter set gets a correspondingly shorter clock rather than an arbitrary one.
While you work:
- Flag a question to come back to it. Flags are yours and are not marked.
- Answers save as you type, debounced. Saving is never blocked by anything, including a spent quota.
- Leaving is safe. An attempt you have started but not submitted is still there when you come back, with your answers and your flags in it. Starting from the list resumes it rather than beginning a second one.
Submitting
Submitting asks you to confirm, and the confirmation names how many questions are unanswered. Once submitted, an attempt is marked immediately and cannot be reopened.
Then you land on the review — see How reading is marked for what is on it.
Reading practice never expires
There is no weekly limit, no Pro gate and no quota meter on reading. The two things that are metered on Free are essay marking and Coach, because those cost money to run. See Plans and limits.
