Cohorts and assignments
A cohort is a class: a named group of your students you set work for all at once. Any staff member — owner, admin or teacher — can make one, fill it and set work in it.
Making a cohort
On the Cohorts page, give it a name and, optionally, the exam it is preparing for. Then open it and add students from the institution's roster. A student can be in more than one cohort.
Removing a student from a cohort only takes them out of that class — they keep their seat. Archive this cohort at the bottom of the page when a class ends; its work stops appearing for its students.
What can be assigned
Existing, published content from the Bandzen catalogue:

Speaking and mock tests cannot be set, and you cannot write your own content from Coach.
Pick one, optionally give it a due date — due by the end of that day, UTC — and choose Assign. Every student in the cohort gets it, including students added later. Remove takes it off the list and off their page.
What students see
Work you set appears on each student's Today page under From your institution, with the cohort name and due date. Starting it from there is what ties the attempt to your assignment.
Only work started from the assignment counts
If a student does the same passage from the ordinary practice library, that attempt is theirs and does not count towards your assignment. A lesson is the exception: it counts as done once completed after you set it, from anywhere.
The gradebook
Each cohort page opens on a gradebook: a row per student, a column per piece of work. Each cell shows:
